Framed flowers.

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend and didn't get blown off your feet, gosh just how windy was it yesterday??

Today sees the first day of a full on week filled with blog posts marking a special collaboration between Stampendous and Spectrum Noir! And having seen what the rest of the design team have created for you, you are not going to be disappointed!

For this card I have used the Bowl Bouquet self cling stamp, and I wanted to colour it with my Spectrum Aqua pens.

The colours I used were
Peach, spice, begonia, blossom, Rose pink, Topaz, Jasmine, Tan, Sea green, Aquamarine, Wildflower

I hope I captured the look of glass on that bowl! If you are wondering about the card shape, it was a template from House of Zandra.

I will be showing you how this stamp looks in Spectrum Noir blendable pencils on Thursday, so I hope you will pop back for that.

I would like to extend a very big Thank You  to Stampendous for allowing me to showcase their wonderful products, I'm sure you will agree the quality of the stamps speak for themselves.
Don't forget to keep checking back on the Spectrum Noir blog and facebook page to see the other beautiful creations this month from the rest of the talented design team.

Happy Colouring!

New Spectrum Noir challenge: use a sentiment.

I'm sharing my design team project for this month's challenge, you have a few days left to upload your project over on the spectrum noir facebook page, the theme is to use a sentiment.

I love this Elisabeth Bell image, and always have to colour her with a sunflower, I just can't make that any other type of flower!

And because its a sunflower what could be a more fitting sentiment than "wishing you sunshine all year through"! Its from Lili of the Valley's Art book 8 - Sentiments.  Lets hope we get some sunshine soon!

I'm currently in love with these "Lost &Found 3" papers from My Minds Eye, and am having to force myself to stop using them! What's your favourites? you could use them for your next challenge entry!

If you would like to enter this months challenge, you can add your card here!

Get making! and remember happy colouring!

Life is just nuts sometimes!

Good morning, I hope you all had a lovely weekend, I was thoroughly spoilt yesterday for Mothers Day by the boys in my life, and I hope you were all too.

So I didn't post anything the past two weeks, but I had to just have a creative break, sometimes even I get too much craft in my life! who'd a thunk it!!!

I also had a great long list of  UFO's (unfinished projects!) most of which involved the use of my sewing machine, so I made the decision that I needed to get on with those to free up some brain space, I don't know about you but if I get too many ideas all at once, I cant complete anything new until they have been removed from the equation, and now i'm 2 blouses and a kimono jacket better off and can move on!

Also my husband is away Monday to Friday each week with his new job, boy I didn't realise quite how much he does round here! while i'm tucked away in my little office, he's doing allsorts of little jobs...ALL of which I have had to do myself!

So what crafty things have I been up to? well life being nuts and all that made me think of the gorgeous little red squirrel stamp from Sheena Douglass...

I Love this little guy!

I used my spectrum noir blendable pencils and blending fluid on the leaves

I even love the little acorns!

Here's the list of colours I have used:

Squirrel: 095, 089, 091, 004, 015, 022, 119, 120
Leaves: 056, 058, 047, 071, 120, blending fluid
Acorns: 089, 058, 047, 015, 120

I mounted it all onto a card blank that had been embossed with one of the new textures embossing folders from Crafters Companion.

Thanks for joining me today
Happy colouring
